MPhil/PhD programmes

All Departments offering a research degree at SOAS offer one entry point each academic year, which is in September.

Visiting Research Student (VRS) programmes

As a non-award programme, the Visiting Research Student programmes (all Departments) offer three entry points, in September, January and April.  

Deadlines for applications

The School's deadlines for receipt of a complete application (including submission of supporting documentation and confidential references) are as follows:

September entry applications-11.59pm, 15 June 2022
January entry applications-11.59pm, 1 October 2021 (VRS applications only)
April entry applications-11.59pm, 31 January 2022 (VRS applications only)

Please remember that applications submitted on the day of the deadline are unlikely to be considered complete in time as an application must include two confidential references and all supporting documents.
