SOAS University of London

I have enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere at SOAS, where there is always someone ready and available to chat about the most diverse topics.

During my undergraduate studies in Germany I spent a semester in Morocco, which began to get me interested in the Middle East and was where I started to learn Arabic. Before coming to SOAS, I did an internship in Future Studies, and when I was looking at postgraduate options I wanted to combine both of these different areas of interest. For me, SOAS offered a unique programme combining Business with the Middle East and North Africa region, which was just what I was looking for. I have enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere at SOAS, where there is always someone ready and available to chat about the most diverse topics. It is an interesting time to be working in Future Studies dealing with the Middle East, as the region moves away from traditional petrochemical industries and is looking to invest and foster development in solar power, water technologies and the IT sector. The internet is also allowing female entrepreneurs business opportunities in what had been traditionally male-dominated industries. My postgraduate year has passed so quickly that it has made me realise that it is important to make the most of everything that London and SOAS has to offer.
