Since I was young I have always had a keen interest in history and became a historian. As a historian, I ask not only how the contemporary world came to be the way it is, but also why societies have changed and developed over time.
At SOAS, I have learnt how to read a variety of texts critically and analytically and then to write about them in engaging ways. I focused on the history of ethnicities and conflicts and took some elective courses in government and politics of Southeast Asia.
I have chosen this University as my first choice because of valuable scholarly resources and well-known reputation of the highly qualified education. Its library is incomparable and literally attracting scholars from all around the globe.
