SOAS University of London

SOAS's history department also attracted me because of their continued recognition for staff-student ratio and the high quality research that is carried out in the department.

SOAS is a breath of fresh air from the standard UK educational curriculum on European history. The unparalleled opportunity to focus on the history of certain world regions instantly made SOAS my first university choice.

My particular interest in Chinese history is also of a personal reason of rediscovering my
heritage. Studying at SOAS has allowed me to delve deeper into the intricacies of Chinese culture and history.

As a joint major in Chinese and history, my subjects have complimented each other well. Studying the language has also provided me with a new dimension in my studies and research of Chinese history, enabling me to put my language to academic practice. Furthermore, with an integrated year abroad in my course, my time in China gave me the chance to generate ideas for my dissertation.
