My time studying Social Anthropology at SOAS was characterised by expert teachers sharing an overwhelming amount of fascinating ideas, perspectives and experiences for us to learn from. Everything I knew before was challenged in a way which was so rewarding. Our teachers were so passionate, and so knowledgeable. The work was challenging and I learnt so much - my horizons were expanded and I developed a form of critical thinking, which feels to me very particular to SOAS. It’s unusual to have such a strong sense of community in a London University, but SOAS has this, and the Helen Kanitkar Anthropology Library really helped to form this community for me.
