In its time this film was one of the most successful of the Disappearing World TV series.  It follows a series of important events in the lives of Masai women lives, from their circumcision ceremonies, marriage to their sons coming of age ceremony.   Concentrating upon women’s own testimonies, this film tries to confront western stereotypes in considering the social construction of Masai womanhood.
