SOAS University of London

Department of Anthropology and Sociology

SOAS Anthropology Student Association (SASA)

Welcome to SASA!

SASA is the social hub for all Anthropology students at SOAS - BA, MA, MRes, MPhil/PhD - and the anthropologically curious on other degree courses. Members of the Anthropology department teaching and support staff are also welcome.

We are dedicated to building community within the department and sparking anthropological discussion on campus and beyond, as well as being a conduit for information about anthropology conferences, research opportunities, future careers and more.

We're just getting launched in 2021/22, but plans so far include getting together for informal discussions at pubs and cafes, showcasing student research projects, arranging cinema nights and museum visits, inviting guest speakers, and pretty much any other kind of event that will connect us with each other and generate discussion around all things anthropological.

Interested? Stop by Anthropology Student Info Board outside the Helen Kanitkar Library (fifth floor, Main College Building) to find out about upcoming activities, and then just turn up! Everyone is welcome.

Questions? Write to SASA.SOAS.SOC  [at]  gmail.com.

Staff advisors for 2021/22 are Dr Inna Yaneva-Toraman and Dr George Bartlett.
