Blanc de Chine, a Continuous Conversation is a display on Dehua porcelains recently opened at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Divided in two sections at the V&A’s China Gallery (Room 44) and Ceramics Gallery (Room 146), this display attempts to bring together historic and contemporary materials, building a bridge between industry and artistic creation, tradition and innovation, Chinese and non-Chinese studio ceramic practices. This talk is going to unveil some behind-the-scenes stories of the making of the display, and discover how the topic was explored and interpreted in a museum environment.
