A packed room at SOAS in the first week of term (there were people sat on the floor!) shows that enthusiasm for the ‘decolonising the curriculum’ project remains as strong as ever amongst SOAS staff and students heading into 2018.

On the panel were Dr. Ayesha Omar (University of the Witswatersrand, Johannesburg) – who presented on her experience of the decolonising agenda happening in South Africa; Ms. Tabisa Raziya (SOAS), Dr. Meera Sabaratnam (SOAS) and Prof. Alison Scott-Baumann (SOAS). The event was chaired by Dr. Manjeet Ramgotra (SOAS).

You can read Meera’s thoughts on the issue in a blog she wrote for us back in January 2017 in a post which has gone on to be the most read on the blog site.
