Critically-acclaimed pianist, composer, multi-instrumentalist and SOAS student, Helen Anahita Wilson, is set to debut her latest solo project BHOOMA at the Shoreditch Treehouse on 6 December.
The BHOOMA project brings together Helen’s own compositions inspired by jazz and Asian musics alongside works by composers from across the globe. Expect Indian textures, Persian rhythms and Japanese minimalism with the intimacy of a late-night, low-light jazz club and probably some Craft beer.
“I’m writing and performing post-genre music which draws much from jazz and from my studies of Indian and Persian musics at SOAS. I worked for several years as a freelance classical pianist, specialising in contemporary music, but have now changed direction to the world of jazz and international music.”
Tickets for the gig are available here.
