The presentation will feature award-winning international films made by young people about their lives.  BYkids filmmaker and American journalist Holly Carter will be the keynote speaker and will set the stage for the films made by young people in Mozambique, Tibet, Colombia and India. Tata Monfared, the CEO of Senses Cultural, a nonprofit organization based in California, is sponsoring the BYkids presentation at SOAS and will introduce Carter. Carter is a Pulitzer-nominated journalist, a Henry Luce scholar, a film and television producer, and the founder and director of BYkids. 

BYkids gives young people around the world a video camera and training and pairs them with prominent filmmakers to make short documentaries about their lives.

Films that will be screened on the night include:

  • Fire in Our Hearts  (India) ~ 27mins
  • Home is Where You Find It  (Mozambique) ~ 27mins
