SOAS academic co-edits book exploring breakdown of trust between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in West
Dr Amina Yaqin, Senior Lecturer in Urdu and Postcolonial Studies at SOAS University of London, has co-edited the book Muslims, Trust and Multiculturalism: New Directions with Palgrave MacMillan which explores the themes of trust and multiculturalism across a range of perspectives, employing insights from political science, sociology, literature, ethnography and cultural studies.

Mind the literary gap: conference to examine absence of non-English literature in the west
SOAS Centre for Cultural Literary and Postcolonial Studies will co-host a conference exploring the absence of non-English literature in the western world. Writer and literary critic Marina Warner, chair of 2015 Man Booker International Prize, will be the keynote speaker.

Professor Francesca Orsini, Chair of the Centre for Cultural, Literary and Postcolonial Studies (CCLPS), has been awarded an ERC advanced grant of €2.5 million to study world literature from the perspective of multilingual societies.
