MA in Postcolonial Studies

What is postcolonial? Theory, literature, history: the course transgresses all disciplinary parochialisms, and so do our fields of interest. In meticulous readings and animated discussions, we have analysed the past in the light of the present, and the present in the light of the past. We have read novels and poetry, and juggled concepts and ideas. Most importantly, we have questioned each and every one of these preciously held notions: knowledge, identity, East/West, self/Other, history, the (post)colonial. In some sense or another, then, it is we who are postcolonial. For there is no turning back for us, we have been irrevocably sensitised, challenged, educated. And we are grateful for it.
