Please read this Agreement carefully as it governs your use of this e-study guide.

Limited Rights to Use Content
  1. Except as may apply to material displayed in this e-study guide ('Content') defined in Section (2) you may retrieve and view the content of the e-study guide on a computer screen, print individual pages on paper and store such pages in electronic form on disk (but not on any server or other storage device connected to an external network), for your own personal, educational, non-commercial purposes. You may make one backup copy of the e-study guide for your own purposes.
  2. Most of the Content on the e-study guide is owned by SOAS but certain Content is used under licence from third parties ('Third Party Content') and will be marked with details of those third parties and the source of the document or electronic resource. Some of the Third Party Content will be subject to additional restrictions – it will be made clear where that is the case. You must comply with such restrictions.
  3. You may not (without prior permission from The Centre for Development, Environment and Policy (CeDEP), SOAS):
    • Redistribute any of the Content or supply it to other people (including using it as part of any library, archive or similar services).
    • Remove the copyright or trade mark notice from any copies of the Content made under this agreement.
    • Create a database in electronic or structured manual form by systematically storing all or any of the Content;
    • Except as expressly set out above, modify, reproduce or in any way commercially exploit any of the Content.
  4. General
    • You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer this Agreement or your rights of usage of this e-study guide.
    • A person who is not party to this agreement shall have no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of its terms.
    • English law will apply to this Agreement and both you and SOAS agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
Limited Warranties

The Centre for Development, Environment and Policy (CeDEP), SOAS uses its reasonable skill and care in making this e-study guide available. However, because of the number of sources from which the Content is obtained it does not give any warranties. In particular, you should not take the accuracy of the information for granted and CeDEP makes no warranty that the e-study guide is free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties.
