Roundtable Discussion Series
The Roundtable Discussion Series promote links between academic experts and others whose interest in China is more policy and business-orientated.
The Roundtable Discussion Series brings together the corporate and academic members of the Institute, as well as external guests from government, the media and academia to discuss topics of shared concern relating to recent and current developments in China.
Prior to the academic year 2017-8 usually one meeting took place per term. Since then about six meetings are held each year. Speakers are drawn from SOAS, as well as the academic community of Chinese Studies in the UK, elsewhere in the EU and further afield.
Participation in the discussion is by invitation in order to ensure that the number of attendees can be kept to a level that will permit informal and candid discussion.
