Join Chenaara Edghill-Peart talk about the rise of corporate compliance. From what it entails such as anti-bribery to why it has gained importance over the last 6 years including her very unusual career on how she has found herself working across industries as an ex-SOAS student. She will also touch up on ethical issues and wider political background with selected companies.
Chenaara graduated from the SOAS LLB Law course in 2008. She went on to study for a Law LLM at the University of Hong Kong with an interest in International Humanitarian Law before returning to London to undertake the BPTC (barrister) certificate. Her background in law led her to a career in compliance which has seen her work across oil and gas, media and now, the pharmaceutical sector. Her first love is politics so she keeps a keen eye out for the bigger picture around her work. She makes special mention of Dr Gina Heathcote (Centres for Gender Studies and Human Rights Law) as being one of her key inspirations at SOAS
