Opportunities for Interdisciplinary interpretations of Sport Diplomacy and Governance in Sporting Mega Events (SME) in East Asia and in the UK (2018-2022).
Along with Dr. J Simon Rofe, Dr. Jaeho Kang, Senior Lecturer in Critical Media and Cultural Studies, Department of History of Art and Archaeology, School of Arts and Dr. Helen Macnaughtan, Senior Lecturer in International Business and Management, School of Finance and Management; Chair, Japan Research Centre – were awarded £10,000 from the Research and Enterprise Seedcorn Funding Initiative in 2018.
This foundational research project provides a timely opportunity for SOAS to capitalise on its regional expertise, then sport diplomacy and governance expertise; to interpret diplomacy and governance during the era of Brexit and East Asian Sports Mega Events 2018-22. This project will coordinate internal and external partners to develop sustainable outputs.
