About SIS

The School of Interdisciplinary Studies (SIS) offers a home for interdisciplinary on-campus and online learning teaching and research in the social sciences, particularly in relation to Asia, Africa and the Middle East. While many programmes at SOAS are inherently interdisciplinary, SIS provides an intellectual space for teaching and learning that combines an understanding of key concepts, theories and debates in the contemporary world, such as inequalities, power, knowledge, gender and sexuality, the role of media, climate change, sustainable development, politics, international relations and diplomacy, among others.
