Language Training

SOAS has been leading the field in the teaching of languages from Asia, Africa and the Middle East for many decades. The Language Centre offers tuition in languages which, in many cases, cannot be studied elsewhere.

CISD offers its students the opportunity to take a language short course in the Language Centre, for one term, at no additional cost. This would be separate and additional, but not compulsory, to your studies for your degree. Students are free to choose from any of the many language short courses offered by the Language Centre at any level of difficulty. However, the Language Centre requires students applying for a course at a level beyond Beginner 1 level to take a short assessment to be able to place them in the right class.

Here are some of the many languages offered as a short course by the Language Centre. For a full list, please visit the Language Centre.
