Spanish-Welsh bilingualism represents a rare combination of languages but is found in Patagonia, Argentina, as the result of the migration of Welsh speakers to Argentina in the nineteenth century. In this talk I will describe the collection of a corpus of conversational data from Spanish-Welsh bilinguals in Argentina as part of the programme of research of the Bilingualism Centre at Bangor University. This also involved the collection of a Welsh-English corpus in Wales and a Spanish-English corpus in Miami, USA.  I will discuss the similarities and differences between Spanish-Welsh and English-Welsh bilingualism and the differing prognoses for the Welsh language in Wales and Argentina.
