Module overview

This module builds on the quantitative and regression analysis from Year 1 and provides an opportunity for students to develop and practice these quantitative skills.

These skills learned include probability analysis, time-series analysis, the ability to analyse risk with sensitivity analysis, testing data series for patterns, forecasting sales and other variables, causality analysis, even studies and the use of decision trees. While the content is primarily quantitative the module is heavy on context and includes two full weeks that are devoted to industry and public sector studies.

Objectives and learning outcomes

Understand how to interpret basic time series; undertake sensitivity analysis, forecast stationary time series and test for causality, perform event studies and construct decision trees.
