This is a session on survey and data literacy for undergraduate students. The sessions aims to introduce students to survey design, use and misuse of surveys and how to access and process secondary data and statistics via the library subscription. It is particularly aimed for Year 3 undergraduate students, but could be openned up to other undergraduate years. The delivery will be achieved through one 2-hour session prior to reading week of term 1.

Objectives and learning outcomes of the module

  1. Identify and define a variety of survey design and measurements.
  2. Identify the value of survey design and measurements in the wider context of professional practice.
  3. Be able to source and handle secondary data.

Workload

This will be a one 2-hour session for Economics undergraduate students.
