Independent Study Project in Arabic Studies

The Independent Study Project (ISP) is a piece of supervised independent work. It may be on any aspect of Arabic studies approved by the module tutor. Candidates research their projects, with guidance from the tutor and others as appropriate, during the first two terms and submit their results in the form of an academically acceptable essay

Objectives and learning outcomes of the module

The objective of the module is to provide the students with training in academic research and writing. At the end of the module the student should be able to talk/write with a high level of knowledge, skill and competence about the topic s/he has chosen to investigate for the purpose of the study project.

Method of assessment

  • One essay of 10,000 words to be submitted in term 3.
