- Knowledge and understanding of the role of language in general, and Arabic in particular, in language-based scholarship and research (specific learning outcome for PG students)
Workload
This module will be taught over 10 weeks with 5 hours classroom contact per week
Scope and syllabus
The module provides teaching and learning of higher intermediate level Arabic language. It covers a wide variety of texts coverning literature, politics, religion, science, etc.
Teaching will dover reading, analysing, writing, listening and speaking.
Method of assessment
- 1 x 2hr in class mid term written and spoken test (30%)
- 1 x 2hr unseen written examination taken in May/June (40%)
- 1 x 20min oral exam in May/June (30%)
