Module overview
All students research and write an Independent Study Project (ISP) in the form of an 8,000-word extended essay. Students choose their own topic, which is usually related to their proposed field of postgraduate study. The ISP is supported in 3 ways
- weekly research methods classes which train students in quantitative and qualitative research and oral presentation of research
- individual tutorials with an English teacher to provide language support
- individual tutorials with an academic supervisor from SOAS or other London University colleges to provide academic support
