The global development paradigm is shifting rapidly. Any institutions concerned for the suffering of humanity, and committed to establishing democracy, and to support socio-economic prosperity of less prosper emerging nations, must find ways to work with the diaspora community of that country. This talk discusses how different actors may encourage diaspora volunteering - from home countries to international development agencies and donors. The speaker will outline his experience working with the UK's Diaspora Volunteering Alliance and discuss diaspora volunteering in Nepal.
