An International Social Forum, held at SOAS University of London this week, hosted the former President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, the leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn and Greek economist Yanis Varoufakis, as well as political campaigners and researchers from the Global South to discuss the global economic framework.

Councillor Maryam Eslamdoust was announced the new mayor of Camden in May 2019. The SOAS alum studied Economics and graduated back in 2004. She breaks boundaries by becoming the first Iranian-born woman ever elected to public office in the UK.
