Consent Workshops for new students
As part of the new, school wide, anti-harassment initiative - Enough is Enough -, all incoming students are required* to attend a two hour consent workshop as part of their registration process. You will need to register for a session using the links below and bring your confirmation email with you to enrolment.
The workshops will run throughout freshers' week and will be facilitated by trained returning SOAS students. The sessions will cover what is meant by consent and how this fits in with the law, as well as tackling issues of victim blaming and respecting sexualities. More information on the workshop content can be found here. The aim of this workshop is to give all students a good working knowledge of healthy sexual consent practices and the confidence to discuss them. Please note that while the workshop is based on understanding sexual consent, it does not contain any explicit content, nor does it encourage participants to share or discuss personal experience.
You can follow the links below to register for a session – please be aware that sessions may clash with your introductory faculty talks in the first few days of freshers' week. If you register for a session and then find out you are unable to attend for any reason, please contact EnoughIsEnough@soas.ac.uk as soon as possible to rearrange.
