Consent Workshops for new students
As part of the new, school wide, anti-harassment initiative - Enough is Enough -, all incoming undergraduate and postgraduate taught students are required to attend a two hour consent workshop as part of their enrolment process. clicking here Please book your place by and log in with your SOAS ID.
The workshops will run throughout freshers' week and will be facilitated by trained returning SOAS students. The sessions will cover what is meant by consent and how this fits in with the law, as well as tackling issues of victim blaming and respecting sexualities. More information on the workshop content can be found here: https://soasunion.org/welfare/enoughisenough/ .
The aim of this workshop is to give all students a good working knowledge of healthy sexual consent practices and the confidence to discuss them. Please note that while the workshop is based on understanding sexual consent, it does not contain any explicit content, nor does it encourage participants to share or discuss personal experience.
Once you have enrolled, if this sessions clashes with your introductory faculty talks in the first few days of freshers’ week, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible to rearrange.
