Dignity at SOAS Policy

SOAS is committed to creating and sustaining a positive working and learning environment where all members of the School’s community can flourish, and achieve their full potential. The SOAS Dignity and Respect policy outlines our commitment to:

  • proactively work towards the elimination of bullying, harassment and victimisation
  • build an inclusive culture, where people feel able/confident to raise complaints, and where robust reporting mechanisms are available, to ensure that appropriate action is taken with regard to bullying and harassment
  • encourage everyone to play a role in fostering a climate where harassment, bullying and victimisation are understood to be unacceptable

All members of the SOAS Community can help to prevent bullying and harassment by:

  • exercising personal responsibility for their behaviour
  • being sensitive to the needs of others
  • holding colleagues who display non-inclusive behaviour to
    account
