MSc Finance and Financial Law
I am a legal counsel based in Pakistan and I undertook the MSc Finance and Financial Law program at SOAS in 2005-06.
After graduating I joined the Lahore Stock Exchange as a Legal Officer and went on to work on the demutualization of the local stock exchanges and contributed to the drafting of the demutualization scheme as well as the Stock Exchanges (Corporatization, Demutualization and Integration) Act 2012.
In 2009, I moved on to Telenor Pakistan, the second largest mobile telecommunications service provider in the newly emerging mobile telecommunications market of Pakistan where I was responsible for authoring, negotiation and finalizing contracts and later looked after the company’s litigation portfolio.
Currently I am working as Unit Head Corporate Advisory, Legal Affairs at MCB Bank Ltd. the largest bank by market capitalization in Pakistan.
I have found the MSc Finance and Financial Law degree particularly useful since it has added essentials of finance including but not limited to concepts of risk management, financial markets, banking and investment to my skill-set of legal expertise thereby giving me an edge and bringing me at par with seniors in the legal field
