Dr Jenny Parkes

This presentation will discuss ActionAid’s Stop Violence Against Girls in School project in Kenya, Ghana and Mozambique. Dr. Parkes will present on baseline research carried out with multiple partners in the three countries, and share some of the early findings, as well as the challenges.

Bio

Jenny Parkes is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Education, and is course leader for the MA in Education, Gender and International Development. Jenny completed her PhD in 2005 on young people’s engagements with violence in a South African school. Since then her research has focused on violence, gender and young people in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK.
