About this event

Nekane R. de Ozamiz and Dr Matti Pohjonen

Breakneck speed developments in artificial intelligence (AI) are predicted to transform every aspect of how people live, work and communicate. This growing ubiquity of AI has caused researchers and critics to raise questions about the potential ethnic, gender and racial biases involved in the widespread deployment of AI in fields as diverse as facial detection, urban planning, employment and the criminal system.

BIAS AI is a documentary that explores different perspectives to bias in AI, as well as considers possible solutions to it by academics, scientists, artists, coders, and users who have been affected by AI systems. The film will be followed by a Q&A a discussion between film-maker Nekane R. de Ozamiz and Dr Pohjonen from the Centre for Global Media and Communication (CGMC)
