Gown hire for Graduation, SOAS University of London
It isn’t compulsory to wear a gown for your Ceremony, but nearly all SOAS graduands do. Our supplier for Graduation gowns is Ede & Ravenscroft.
Click here to order your gown (we recommend doing it as soon as possible).
You’ll have to enter the right University before you can order. You should be able to find it by typing in SOAS and then choosing ‘London University School of Oriental and African Studies’.
If you have any gown-related questions, call Ede and Revenscroft on 01123 861 854 (national rate) or email them: email@example.com.
You’ll collect your gown on the day and be fitted for it. Make sure you allow plenty of time for this, as there’ll be many other fellow graduands being fitted too. Gowning will take place in Jeffrey Hall, level one of the Institute of Education.
You must return your gown to Ede and Ravenscroft before you leave SOAS.
Most graduands and guests dress formally for Graduation Ceremonies, but we don’t have an official dress code. You’re of course very welcome to wear traditional or national dress.
It will be easiest to attach your hood if you wear a button-through blouse or shirt. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to bring some safety pins to secure it.
When choosing footwear, bear in mind that the stairs onto the stage are quite steep.
