Legionella

SOAS accepts its responsibilities to take every reasonable precaution necessary to protect the welfare of people occupying and visiting their properties, when dealing with the issue of Legionella. SOAS has allocated resources through the Estates team to ensure that a competent Contractor has been employed to carry out Legionella risk assessments at regular intervals, and that testing and remedial work is instigated as part of a regular program of works, as per the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L8) – Legionnaires disease, The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems. This contractor will liaise with Estates where appropriate, when corrective works are required which will come under their remit.
Management of Legionella at SOAS is divided between our onsite maintenance contractor and the specialist water division of the same company.
