The Recruitment and Operations Team provides operational HR services to staff and managers across the school including:
  • specialist recruitment service
  • contracts of employments and variations of contracts
  • obtaining certificiate of sponsorships and overseeing right to work checks
  • administering promotions,  rewards and probation processes
  • processing leavers

Meet the Team
Jolyon Pluck, Recruitment and Operations Manager:

Leads the Recruitment and Operations team and provides specialist knowledge and support on Recruitment, candidate sourcing, innovative selection solutions plus overall support for HR Operations including Visas, Reward, Academic Promotions, Employment contracts, HERA etc.

Gaya Murugathas and Joanna Juzaszek, Recruitment and Operations Assistants:

The Recruitment and Operations Assistant's provide recruitment and 1st line operational HR support to managers and staff across SOAS.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of Casual Contracts and Research Contracts
  • Support the administration of the employee lifecycle
  • Support the administration of HR activities such as Rewards, Promotion, HR committee papers and Case work
  • Assisting and sign posting managers and staff to SOAS policies and procedures on the websit

Julia Ama and Maria Mitchell, Recruitment and Operations Administrators:

The Recruitment and Operations Administrators provide recruitment and operational HR support to managers and staff across SOAS and act as the first point of contact for applicants and new employees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of the full employment lifecycle
  • Support the administration of the recruitment process
  • Issue standard letters and contracts
  • Advise managers and staff on SOAS policies and procedures relating to terms and conditions of employment

Jessie Suganthy and Anam Akhtar: Recruitment and Operations Officers:

The Recruitment and Operations Officers provides recruitment and operational HR support to managers and staff across SOAS and acts as the first point of contact for Recruiting Managers

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support around the delivery of a successful recruitment, with a focus on best practice
  • Oversee the production of HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment
  • Manage the Recruitment and Operations Administrators and Recruitment and Operations Assistants.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a range of key operational HR exercises run on an annual basis, for example the staff reward scheme, promotions etc.
  • Manage the employee/applicants records in relation to compliance with UKVI regulations
