SOAS Refugee Law Clinic

A unique opportunity for SOAS law students to gain practical experience in refugee law.

SOAS is one of the ten participating member institutions of the newly established Refugee Law Clinic of the University of London. The Clinic offers 5 SOAS law students (3rd year undergraduate, LLM/MA students) the opportunity to engage in clinical work in the field of asylum law under the direct supervision of a lawyer. For the academic year 2020/2021, the Clinic will commence in October 2020, with a time commitment of around four hours per week for a year. Information on how to apply for a clinic place and on selection criteria will be posted on the School of Law's website in September 2020. Further information about the Clinic can be found at Refugee Law Initiative. Dr. Lutz Oette, Director of the SOAS Centre for Human Rights Law, represents the SOAS School of Law on the Refugee Law Clinic's Governing Board.
