Getting your Research into Journals and Books will cover the attributes of scholarly publishing including peer review, discoverability, using books to influence policy and practice, and open access. It will also describe how to adapt PhD research into the broader approach and appeal of a book, and outline the first steps in approaching a publisher.
Development bookshelf: finding the information you need will cover how to get the best from Practical Action Publishing’s online platform. SOAS students and staff have access to all of our book content published electronically on the developmentbookshelf, and our content covers development as practised by international aid organizations, as well as researchers examining and critiquing that practice. The subject areas include: development studies, gender in development, social anthropology, agriculture and food, climate change and the environment. It will show how to register and use searches, alerts and citation tools to find the peer-reviewed information you need for your essays and research.
