This page lists the databases available at SOAS, with titles beginning with the letters C-D; for other databases use the letter navigation on the left or go to the A-Z database homepage.
On-campus access is automatic for most databases; and many can be accessed off-campus using your SOAS id and password (the same as you use for SOAS e-mail and computers). Off-campus access is only available to SOAS students and staff; and is available only where there is a link for 'off-campus use'.

Full-text access to over 1,000 Chinese language journals; in the subscribed series: Literature/History/Philosophy (F), Politics/Military affairs/Law (G), Education/Social Sciences (H) and Economics (J).
Full-text is available to subscribed content. A small percentage of the articles are images which can be converted to text-based articles by using the OCR button. Bibliographic citations are available free of charge for the entire CNKI database

China Maxx (中文集献) |
China Maxx is the European mirror site of Superstar Digital Library (超星数字图书馆). It is a full-text database of e-books purchased from China. Titles such as: 四库全书存目, 四库禁毁书丛刊,四库未收书刊辑 totalled 2,000 volumes, are in the database. Four early twenty century periodicals such as 新青年 & 妇女杂志,are also included. Important Chinese culture and historical data, such as上海市文史资料,山东省文史资料 & 北京文史资料 in 1, 700 volumes together with over 200 volumes ebooks have been purchased.

Chinese Theses and Dissertations Services (Taiwan) 中文電子學位論文服務 |
Consists of theses and dissertations information from Taiwan higher education institutions after 2004. At present, this database contains theses and dissertations mainly from Taiwan universities, including National Taiwan University, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts, National Tsing Hua University and National Taiwan Normal University, with over 27,000 bibliographic citations and 16,500 theses in full text. Subject coverage includes humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, applied sciences, medicine and life sciences.
The best result is gained by searching with terms in traditional Chinese. All articles are available in PDF format so you will need Acrobat Reader version 5.X

This database contains about 480 handwritten materials by more than 60 writers who have led the modern Japanese literature, such as Kyoshi Takahama, Soseki Natsume, Ogai Mori, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Shiki Masaoka, Haruo Sato, and Takashi Nagatsuka. The original materials are held by Kyoshi Memorial Museum.
