Oktav will discuss relations between Turkey and Syria after the Syrian crisis alongside Turkey's changing foreign policy and will go on to address the reasons why Turkey favoured to its relationship with Iran after the Syrian uprising.
Ozden Zeynep Oktav has been teaching Turkish Foreign Policy and the Middle East for 15 years at Yildiz Technical University. She is the author of three books, Limits of Relations with the West, Turkey, Syria and Iran (Beta, 2008), Changing Dynamics of the Persian Gulf: Iran-USA-Saudi Arabia relation (Beta,2011), Turkey in the 21st Century: Quest for a New Turkish Foreign Policy, (Ashgate, 2011), and various book chapters and articles. Professor Oktav was a visiting scholar at Cambridge University in 2011,and since October 2013 is a visiting scholar at St Andrews University.
