World renowned and award-winning Iranian filmmaker, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, is coming to SOAS, University of London for the screening of two of the latest documentary films from the Karestan Project. The Karestan Project was conceived by Bani-Etemad and developed in collaboration with others, including filmmakers such as Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, the co-director of the award-winning This is not a Film (2011). Each Karestan documentary follows people who have played and continue to play an integral role in transforming notions of social responsibility and entrepreneurship in contemporary Iran despite hostile circumstances.

The screening event will take place on the afternoon of Saturday 24 November in the Khalili Lecture Theatre at SOAS with each of the two documentaries followed by a Q&A session with our special guest, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and others. This event will be ticketed. More information to follow soon.
