  • The first of two lectures by Abbas Amanat on In Search of Modern Iran, the second will take place on Tuesday 14 March 2017. This longue durée of Iran’s early modern and modern history explores patterns of sovereignty, memory and nationhood from the Safavid to the Pahlavid periods.
