Track 6: Sirlu Tuhrlu Pye

The second day of the death commemoration is for celebration, and amongst the events, Sirlu tuhrlu pye, the creation text, is chanted by klhyepri shamans in front of the deceased's house. Sirlu tuhrlu tells the story how the world, and the plants, animals, and humans that inhabit it were created.

The klhyepri explain why today is a joyful occasion, since the soul of the dead has been reunited with his or her living descendants in this place on this day, and anticipate a successful conclusion to the ritual, when the soul of the dead will meet other ancestors in the upper worlds, and how, later he or she will be reincarnated as a human being or an animal.
