Summary

Toshiko Yonekawa (koto 13-string zither) is from a family lineage of koto masters (her mother was a Living National Treasure), she has performed in over 15 countries as a Cultural Envoy (文化庁文化交流使) for Japan's Ministry of Culture. Toshiko plays pieces from the 17th century onwards and has composed new pieces, including one for koto and viola that will be heard at this concert.

Toshiko will be performing with Mari Kamegawa (shamisen 3-string lute), Clive Bell (shakuhachi bamboo flute) & Wenhan Jiang (viola).
