Dr Leslie Vinjamuri, Senior Lecturer in International Relations, has been elected to the Council of Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
Chatham House is an independent policy institute based in London. Its mission is to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world. Dr Vinjamuri, also Co-Director of the Centre for the International Politics of Conflict, Rights and Justice at SOAS, brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the elected body.
Speaking about her appointment, Dr Vinjamuri said: “I am delighted to have been elected to the Council. Chatham House plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of research and debate on international affairs and, perhaps even more importantly, that this does not go unnoticed in the public sphere. Its remarkable contributions are sustained in part by strong links to universities in the UK and beyond and in an era where universities are concerned about impact, the benefit is clearly mutual.”
