SOAS Development Studies student Matthew Juden wins first DSA/ICEA Masters dissertation prize 2015

2015 saw the launch of the new annual Development Studies Association (DSA) dissertation prize, in partnership with the International Consulting Economists Association (ICEA).

SOAS Development Studies student Matthew Juden was awarded the first DSA/ICEA prize for his dissertation on 'Realist randomised controlled trials of development interventions in practice: concrete design suggestions to address the problem of external validity'.

The annual prize of £1000 is awarded to the best Masters level dissertation in development studies and development economics. The prize was awarded at the DSA annual conference dinner held at the University of Bath in September 2015, and Matthew also presented his work as part of a panel on innovations in methodology. 

The department congratulates Matthew, alum of the MSc Research for International Development programme (2013/14), for his excellent work.
