SOAS scholar awarded Gerda Henkel Foundation funding to complete the writing of a book on the archaeology of Medieval Kinet and the northern Crusader States

Scott Redford, Nasser D. Khalili Professor of Islamic Art and Archaeology at SOAS, University of London, has been awarded a grant from the Gerda Henkel Foundation in Düsseldorf to complete the writing of a book on the archaeology of Medieval Kinet and the northern Crusader States.

Redford served as the director of medieval excavations at Bilkent University excavations at the site of Kinet, in Turkey's Hatay Province. The Kinet excavations were directed by Prof. Marie-Henriette Gates of Bilkent.
