Dr Kate Grady and Professor Matt Craven from the School of Law at SOAS University of London, along with Dr Russell Buchan at the University of Sheffield, have been awarded funding from the Society of Legal Scholars for the Society's prestigious Annual Seminar Series. The funding will facilitate a two-day event in March 2018 on 'the Legal Legacies of the Iraq War'. Taking place almost exactly 15 years since the start of that conflict, the seminar seeks to explore the diverse legal inheritance of the 2003 Iraq War – the manner in which law has been made, and remade, by the conflict; the use of law as both a justification for and a site of resistance against the conflict; and the conflict as a catalyst for legal change. More information on this event can be found here.
