Asian Development Bank President Takehiko Nakao reappoints Ulrich Volz to Advisory Council

Asian Development Bank President Takehiko Nakao has reappointed Ulrich Volz, Head of the SOAS Economics Department, as one of the seven members of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) Advisory Council for another term of two years. The ADBI is based in Tokyo. Its objectives are to identify effective development strategies and improve the capacity for sound development across Asia. ADBI was ranked the world's second-best government affiliated think tank in the University of Pennsylvania's latest ranking of the world's leading think tanks. ADBI also ranked second among regional studies centres, sixth among think tank networks, and seventh among international development think tanks. 

Ulrich Volz said: "ADBI is making important contributions to advancing our understanding of Asia's most pressing development challenges and to devising innovative policy solutions to tackle these. I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue serving on the Advisory Council and contribute to the this mission."
