SOAS Director Baroness Valerie Amos CH gave the keynote speech at Sport England’s event on diversity and inclusion.
Hosted at Africa House in central London, Baroness Amos was invited to share her insights and discuss what the sport sector can do to lead on diversity and inclusion.
Speaking about her role as Director at SOAS, Baroness Amos: “Young people are naturally challenging. They force you to think differently. We owe it to the new generation, which believes in diversity, equality and inclusion, to stop holding them back.”

Joining the Director were students from the Centre of International Studies and Diplomacy. One of the modules available to study is Sport and Diplomacy: More than a Game, which is convened by Dr J. Simon Rofe.
Sport England is responsible for grassroots sport in England and works with national and local partners to enable everyone to benefit from sport and physical activity.
