The SOAS South Asia Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Avinash Paliwal as the new Deputy Director. Avinash holds an MA and PhD in International Relations from King’s College London, and a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi. Formerly a Visiting Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), New Delhi and the Paul H. Speaking about his appointment Avinash said: "It is an honour for me to accept this position of responsibility. I look forward to working with and learning from Prof. Edward Simpson and colleagues across the School’s academic and professional departments, and contributing towards the ongoing development of the SOAS South Asia Institute as a hub for innovative and interdisciplinary research and teaching, and an inclusive platform with global outreach."
Avinash becomes the second Deputy Director of the SSAI, following the completion of Navtej Purewal's successful term.
